I don’t forget the sleepless nights when my grown-up infants have been babes in my arms. Their cries for consolation or starvation crammed the midnight space, and I stumbled down the hall to scoop them up. I sat in a rocking chair and hummed a small tune as they snuggled near. Then the several years went by, and they grew from newborn to toddler and baby to teen.
