A Prayer for the Grace We Need to Maintain Suffering

“But he provides additional grace. For that reason it says, ‘God opposes the happy but presents grace to the humble’” (James 4:6, ESV).

A person of my closest good friends has been going for walks via a quite large time pertaining to her husband’s analysis of MS. There are moments when she opens up to me about her struggles with how it has impacted her marriage, and all I want to do is encourage and assist her have the burden. The other day, I listened as she sobbed, and tried out my greatest to admit the problems and soreness, even if I could not thoroughly relate to her problem. To motivate her, I advised her that in her repentance of complaining and discontentment in the midst of her struggling, I see so significantly gorgeous humility and a bigger trust being fashioned in her. Since of that humility, we can rejoice in realizing God has promised to give grace to the humble.

“But he offers much more grace. Hence it states, ‘God opposes the happy but presents grace to the humble’” (James 4:6 ESV).

Some of us have been referred to as to a larger evaluate of struggling than other people, and instead of letting the trial to embitter us or lead to us to be nervous, we can be grateful that we will be recipients of God’s excellent sustaining grace in a greater measure. To receive sustaining grace, we need to keep in mind to occur to God humbly as we master to lean on Him for toughness and have faith in that He is using suffering for a purpose. Pain and struggling are not something any of us appear ahead to, but although we dwell listed here in this fallen and broken planet, it is unavoidable. It is so uncomplicated to get caught up in the storms of our everyday living and reduce sight of the hope readily available to us via Jesus Christ. The Lord is effective in our trials to deliver us closer and conform us to His impression. The Apostle Paul calls this “the fellowship of His suffering” (Philippians 3:10). Not only do our trials carry us nearer to Christ, but they also remind us heaven is our correct dwelling and that just one day, our suffering will cease. 

Struggling may perhaps not disappear in this existence, but the excellent news is Jesus walks by it with us, promising to empower us with His grace. Amid the agony, the temptation is to correct our concentrate on the struggle we experience and attempt to figure out how to escape or correct it. The Lord is calling us to run to Him in our weak point. Allow us run to Him and tumble at His toes in humility, recognizing that His power is made best in our weak spot. 

Let us pray:
Pricey Lord,
I know Your grace is enough and that You are my ever-current aid in periods of need, but in some cases my actions do not reflect these truths. It’s considerably easier for me to complain about my nerve-racking, unpleasant, and difficult conditions or check out to repair or improve what appears to be resulting in me to sense overcome. I need to occur to You and talk to for grace when I have attained my limit, or I come to feel like I am getting crushed underneath the pounds of my suffering. You are trustworthy to offer all I need mainly because You are a gracious Father who cares deeply for Your youngsters. I occur to You as Your kid today, boldly inquiring for Your sustaining and highly effective grace to carry me by means of each individual difficult second. You are trustworthy in every single period, even if this year of suffering doesn’t have an expiration date on this aspect of eternity. Thank You for reminding me to occur to You very first. I pray, nowadays, for Your sustaining grace. In Jesus’ identify, Amen.
