A Prayer for Enduring Marriages

“However, each one of you also need to appreciate his spouse as he loves himself, and the wife will have to respect her husband”—Ephesians 5:33

Sadly, marriage is under attack. It’s being devalued, prevented, redesigned, and mocked. But God made relationship as a sacred union to be highly regarded and revered, holy in advance of Him. Compared with existing cultural tendencies, marriage is not a legal contract but a covenant with God. It’s His concept, layout, and established of guidelines bordering it. Human laws do not trump His ways, and He has not offered us the independence to reinvent it. Marriage is very important to God’s prepare simply because it signifies the partnership concerning Jesus Christ and the Church. The breaking down of it on earth is the enemy at work to try and destroy God’s will for the Church. Revelation 19:7 paints the photo of what is to arrive with Christ and His Church. 

“Let us rejoice and be happy and give Him glory! For the wedding ceremony of the Lamb has appear, and His bride has manufactured herself all set.”

Relationship is a thing to struggle for, just like the Church of Jesus Christ is truly worth preventing for. If Christians are unwilling to battle for their marriages, how can they stand up and struggle for the Church?

Marriage Is God’s Secret
Believers in Jesus Christ must contemplate their earthly marriage covenants with reverence and determination. Ephesians 5:25-33 explains the secret of earthly relationship, made to sort an unbreakable bond concerning spouse, wife, and God. He reveals the secret of His Bride, the Church.

“Husbands, enjoy your wives, just as Christ cherished the Church and gave Himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with h2o by means of word and to present her to Himself as a radiant Church, with out stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” Ephesians 5:25-27

Relationship is our God-built product for what the Church is to grow to be, which is the entire body of Christ on earth. Ephesians 5:28-30 points out, “In this exact way, husbands should to adore their wives as their very own bodies. He who loves his wife enjoys himself. Immediately after all, no 1 ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their physique, just as Christ does the Church—for we are members of His body.” Ephesians 5:31 points out God built marriage as a profound mystery that reveals His eternal system for Christ and His Church. “’For this motive a male will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will come to be 1 flesh.’ This is a profound mystery—but I am conversing about Christ and the Church.” Like a physical, earthly marriage, God calls us to purity, as it is essential to getting one with our partner and with the Church starting to be a single with Jesus Christ. 

“Marriage ought to be honored by all, and the relationship bed saved pure, for God will decide the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.” (Hebrews 13:4)

Let’s pray:
Pricey Father,
Marriage is Your sacred, holy design and style beneath Your authority on your own. Currently holy matrimony, Your eyesight for the marriage involving Jesus and the Church is beneath attack. But You, O Lord, can bolster and bind us as a single in our marriages so that the enemy simply cannot tear aside what You have joined collectively. We request You nowadays to embolden us to stand up from his assaults and continue to be faithful to our vows to You and every other.

It’s not by our could or our ability that we can stand, but by Your Spirit, who empowers us to endure the enemy’s assaults against our marriages. Thank you, Father, for each day strengthening and encouraging us to be holy as You are holy. Allow us be a image to the environment of Jesus’ unfailing faithfulness to His Church. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
