“Whatever you do, perform heartily, as for the Lord and not for adult males, being aware of that from the Lord you will acquire the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” – Colossians 3:23-24 ESV

Lately, my partner experienced a tough couple of days, producing intense arguments which impacted our romance. Peeling again levels of discontentment and aggravation, we recognized my husband’s rather new (3-12 months) remote/perform-from-household posture was influencing other relationships and duties. He remaining time to decompress, process, or disconnect from operate everyday living, negatively impacting his outlook on lifestyle in normal. He felt lonely, caught, unchallenged, and unmotivated. Discontentment was breeding resentfulness and bitterness, resulting in him to perspective other locations of daily life with a detrimental and fatalistic lens. Instead of giving into despair, we remembered what God’s Phrase claims and used it to our condition for renewed hope and point of view. In Colossians chapter 3, the Apostle Paul inspired the church at Colossae to recall who they were dwelling for:

“Whatever you do, get the job done heartily, as for the Lord and not for guys, figuring out that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23-24, ESV).

Paul did not say, “Operate heartily until it really is dull or unpleasant. Then converse about how considerably you you should not like what you are carrying out and give up.” No! Paul reminded the believers to use the skills and abilities provided to them by the Lord in remarkable and mundane predicaments to glorify God, not to acquire praise from adult males. Let us pray:
Heavenly Father,

I repent for grumbling and complaining when bored with life’s monotony and mundane conditions. You should support me to see each and every working day as a reward. Educate me to selection my days and not acquire the breath in my lungs for granted. I have to confess that I can expand weary at the each day responsibilities right before me, and the absence of pleasure in individuals modest, easy functions can trigger me to stroll in discontentment, laziness, and pessimism. I have to have Your grace to reinforce me to run the race established ahead of me so I can finish properly, for Your name’s sake. No make a difference what You have termed me to do here on this earth, I want to do it for You and not the praise of guys. I want to use my time correctly and give You all the glory in every little thing I say and do. I want to get the job done heartily and joyfully for You all the days of my everyday living. Thank You that You have provided me Your Spirit to convict me when I complain or when I am ungrateful for this blessed lifetime You have provided me in this article and now and the daily life to arrive the place I will get to invest eternity with You. I very long to serve You with each fiber of my becoming! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
