I had a conversation with an old friend the other day. We joked about the earlier, reliving fun recollections of our young times. But by the smiles and laughs, anything induced a unpleasant memory. That evening, I couldn’t get it out of my head. The following day— would not you know it— I woke up with indications of a chilly. Now, not only did my feelings reel from the agonizing memory my bodily human body languished as perfectly. It appeared the enemy was hitting me from each individual facet. Ahead of I knew it, despair overcame me. I wanted to get up. Get transferring. Get back to my usual everyday lifestyle, but I just could not do it. So, what do we do when despair threatens to overtake us?

Enable me to remember I’m not combating in opposition to flesh and blood but “against mighty powers in this dim earth.” (Ephesians 6:12) And due to the fact of that, I can pray in opposition to any assault of the enemy, including despair. I pray versus despair in my daily life. I have so several motives to be hopeful. Despair has no put in my thoughts or heart. You have promised me everlasting joy. I receive that promise these days, Father. Thank you for the joy that in no way finishes and hopes for a long run in heaven with you.
