A Prayer to Guard Our Mouths

“Set a guard, O Lord, about my mouth Retain enjoy about the doorway of my lips” (Psalm 141:3, NKJV).

As Christ’s followers, our speech must reflect Him and His techniques and be seasoned with grace, humility, and like. If we confess our faith in Christ, there ought to be proof of our changed speech as well as our changed everyday living and actions. This has grow to be a frequent prayer for me, particularly as I am viewing how my speech is influencing my little ones. Young children are tiny sponges, and they pick up on everything we say and do. My oldest is getting a learn of sarcasm, thanks to me. I see my sinful speech tendencies in my young children, and I do not want these behaviors to kind into constant conduct. We must consider pause when we see ungodly speech develop into constant in our lives, repent, and talk to God to aid us guard our mouths and opt for our phrases properly or know when to be silent.

I need Your help to control my tongue in situations of strife or disagreement with other people. I want my terms to glorify You and share Your truth and gospel. I pray that my steps would also reflect my speech. I lengthy for my stroll with You to match my profession of faith. Assist me to guard my mouth and to choose my phrases wisely or know when it is finest not to say everything at all. When my flesh wants to rule, I rely on that You offer a way out each individual time I am tempted to use my words and phrases in a silly way.
