A Prayer to Sit with Sinners

We are so quick to cancel–especially on social media. And I comprehend most Christ-followers do not intend for their potent viewpoints or social posts to damage anyone deliberately. Since I personally know many who have shared these posts, and I know that in serious everyday living, they would under no circumstances, ever exclude anybody from experiencing a meal at their table based mostly on their pores and skin colour or gender identification. If they ran into someone in general public who assumed and lived in another way than them, they would take care of them with the exact kindness they give a fellow congregant at church. They would welcome them in adore.

I like Jesus’ sturdy rebuke to the Pharisees. Mainly because it also applies to us. In some way some of us have mistaken Christianity as a call to hunker down and safeguard the flock from the outside planet. A lot like the Pharisees started to believe that, we fall for the lie. It’s us versus them. But that is not what Jesus claimed. As a substitute, He reminded the Pharisees and us, He didn’t come to rescue the righteous (all those already in Christ). He came to conserve these sick and in have to have of a savior (Mark 2:17). His plan for reaching people in require of a savior was by putting His Spirit inside of His people today. We are salt and light-weight (Matthew 5:13-16). Lord, 
Thank you for your Word that is our solid basis when we get carried away by the opposing narratives in the entire world. Jesus, safeguard us from the enemy, who seeks to divide us, transform us in opposition to each individual other, and end sharing the Gospel with all those who desperately have to have it!
