A Prayer for a Heavenly Standpoint

“Set your intellect on issues previously mentioned, not on factors on the earth. For you died, and your lifestyle is hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:2-3, NKJV).

As a homeschool mother of 3, it so straightforward for me to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of existence. In some cases my times really feel like never-ending job lists, preserving up with housework, schoolwork, and ministry existence- equally on line as a author and serving at my local church. If I am not careful, I can obtain myself rising distracted from spiritual issues and consumed and overcome with my responsibilities. Even though I know the Lord has specified me the reward of my position as a wife and mom, that need to in no way turn into my sole identification. My eyes weren’t designed to grow to be fixated on the temporal items of this earth, but I will need to bear in mind to carry my gaze to my King when I feel overwhelmed and drained. The far more we behold our King, the additional we turn into like Him and long to replicate Him to a lost and dying globe. The entire world requires the hope of Christ, and we are to be carriers of that message that sets the captives free of charge and offers them life everlasting in Christ alone. We are to be eagerly fixated on the return of King Jesus, but all way too usually, temporal, worldly needs and duties have our gaze. 

The Apostle Paul exhorts the church at Colossae to repair their thoughts on heavenly and everlasting matters:

“Set your mind on things over, not on matters on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:2-3, NKJV).

We simply cannot allow the temptations of this environment and our weak flesh to entangle us into bondage Christ gave His daily life to established us free of charge from. We should pray and check with God to fortify us so that we do not give into these temptations and worldly needs. He constantly presents a way of escape from these temptations, and we should belief that He will in no way direct us astray. His ways are so significantly improved than ours! As believers, mainly because of our faith in Jesus Christ, our names are published in the Lamb’s e book of everyday living – the paperwork needed for entrance into our awaited property in heaven. This heavenly citizenship means we are to be established aside from the entire world as believers. If Christ has saved you, you have died to your aged self, and now He has supplied you the privilege of being aware of Him and anticipating His complete fellowship.

Whilst right here on earth, we can love a smaller taste of glory as we turn out to be conformed to the image of Christ by God’s grace and the electrical power of the Spirit. The Christian lifetime is the approach of rising in Christ-likeness- reworked by sanctification. The path of transformation sales opportunities to an eternity of transformation. Our bodies will be remodeled from our humble point out into conformity with the body of His glory. As believers, we joyfully post to Christ’s Lordship in all matters in our daily life. In the conclude, Jesus Christ reconciles all things to their ideal location He sets all items correct by the authority and may possibly of His ability. When the world will get dim, let’s keep in mind not to mature weary or discouraged but to fix our gaze on our heavenly home that awaits us! When we are tempted to get weighed down by the things of the earth, we can inquire God to help us have a point of view modify that shifts our eyes up. Might the Lord fill our hearts with the hope of heaven!

Heavenly Father,
There is a cause that You really do not quickly consider us to heaven when we turn into born all over again You have a intent for us to fulfill right here on earth- to convey You glory and share the gospel with all those who do not know You. Instead of turning into consumed with the factors of this planet, You want us to bear in mind where our legitimate citizenship resides- heaven. Support me to change my standpoint when I become overcome with my duties listed here or when I am tempted to grow to be entangled with worldly pursuits. As the world grows darkish about us, support me be a mild for Christ and a messenger of hope to the dropped. Thank You for the grace to become heavenly-minded.
